Ehrenamtliche Helfer am Löricker Deich im ganztägigen Einsatz
Thomas Geisel, Kandidat für das Oberbürgermeisteramt, hat gestern Einsatzstellen der ehrenamtlichen Helfer in den vom Unwetter verwüsteten Teilen Düsseldorfs besucht. Er dankte allen freiwilligen Helferinnen und Helfern für ihr sofortiges Engagement in der Nacht und am gestrigen Tag. Besonderen Eindruck hinterließen bei ihm die Mitglieder der DLRG, die die teils chaotische Lage am eigenen Einsatzzentrum am Löricker Deich in den Griff bekommen mussten: Alte hohe Pappeln waren über den Dächern der Vereinsheime abgebrochen und hatten große Schäden an Gebäuden, Fahrzeugen und Wohnwagen angerichtet.
DLRG-Bezirksleiter Jürgen Pannen: „Wir müssen uns schnell selbst helfen, denn wir müssen ja wieder einsatzbereit werden. Aber wir können nicht damit rechnen, den finanziellen Schaden voll ersetzt zu bekommen.“ Thomas Geisel forderte für solche Fälle einen Hilfsfonds der Stadt.
An Ort und Stelle übermittelte der OB-Kandidat auch den Dank ans THW. Dessen ehrenamtliche Mitarbeiter waren den ganzen Tag über am Löricker Deich im Einsatz.
Um seine direkten Nachbarn, die Mitarbeiter der Feuerwache 3 an der Münsterstraße, kümmerte sich Thomas Geisel bereits mit dem Beginn der Serienalarme am späten Montagabend. Auch gestern hielt er Nachbarschaftskontakt und stärkte den Feuerwehrleuten den Rücken im Dauereinsatz.
Ich bin da nicht so pessimistisch
Ob wir wollen oder nicht, das Leben geht weiter. Der großen Mehrheit der BürgerInnen werden das Entsetzen, zumindest Reste ungläubigen Staunens, noch eine Weile zusetzen. Wir sind als diese Mehrheit existenziell aber weitgehend noch einmal davongekommen. Die bevorstehenden Auseinandersetzungen mit Versicherern, längere Fahrzeiten und das Warten auf Handwerker sind ärgerlich, aber zu verkraften. Und wessen Blechkarosse unter einem Baum Schaden erlitt, der kann seine Empörung darüber ja weiterhin in alle Welt posten. Einigen fehlt es offenkundig an social skills.
Wenn wir nicht noch einmal bis oder am Sonntag eine derartige Wetter-Heimsuchung erfahren, dann sehe ich nicht, dass sich das Unwetter von gestern auf das Wahlverhalten derart auswirken wird, dass die Wahlbeteiligung deshalb sänke. Ich denke, dass die BürgerInnen wissen und beachten, dass die Stichwahl am 15. Juni nicht belanglos ist. Auch bin ich davon überzeugt, dass sie sich nicht einblasen lassen, die „Beamten der Verwaltung“ hätten angesichts des Unwetters geschlafen. Auch dieser Unsinn wurde gepostet.
Manch Aktuelles böte sich gleichwohl heute schon an, zu Wahlkampfzwecken aufgepeppt zu werden. Mit der von mir nicht nett beantworteten Frage, wo der amtierende OB war, will ich es indes für heute gut sein lassen. Daher fällt auch der fast schon logische Folgesatz fort, der mit „obwohl“ begonnen und mit Betrachtungen die Partei des Kontrahenten von Thomas Geisel betreffend geendet hätte.
Ein vorausschauender Blick auf Sonntag sei bitte trotzdem gestattet: Bei der Regulierung Ihnen entstandener Schäden werden Sie insbesondere dann, wenn Sie dies online erledigen wollen, hier und da ein Kreuzchen machen müssen; – Formulare sind meist so. Heute aber nicht, denn heute ist es angesagt, allen großen Dank zu sagen, die sich unermüdlich darum kümmern, weitere Schäden zu verhindern und Straßen, Gleise und Wege wieder sicher zu machen. Ja, viele von diesen Mitmenschen machen „nur“ ihren Job. Wir Bürgerinnen und Bürger haben zwar nicht die Aufgabe, sie zu „führen“, aber ein Lob, zumal in Ausnahmesituationen, ist nicht nur Vorgesetzten vorbehalten. Vorbehalte dem gegenüber……..nein, auch das kommt erst morgen.
